Earthworm
The earthworm is tube-shaped with a segmented body. It is commonly found in soil where it eats dead organic matter. It respiration through its skin with a closed circulatory system.
Most earthworms have a nervous system that is sensitive. Its brain is connected to nerve cords that are found down the length of the earthworm. At each segment, branches are spread out that connect every segment to each other. Each segmental ganglion must be well coordinated with each other since they must interact in order to control muscle contractions in each segment that are responsible for locomotion. Thanks to this responsive nervous system, an earthworm is sensitive to touch, light from in front or in back, moisture, chemicals, temperature, and vibrations.
