Roundworms
Roundworms are nematodes that can infect people or animals. They usually live in the intestines and can vary from 1 millimeter to 1 meter. Roundworms are parasites and can be contracted by people from contact with dirt where the eggs are laid. Some worms are also able to get into the body through the skin through contact with certain larvae.
Four peripheral nerves run along the length of the body, under the epidermal cells but above the muscle cells. Out of the ventral, dorsal and lateral surfaces where the nerve runs along the ventral nerve is the largest of them all. The dorsal nerve is responsible for motor control, while the lateral nerves are sensory, and the ventral combines both functions. These nerves connect at the pharynx and act as a sort of brain from there. Small nerves branch forward to supply sensory organs for the head.
