Yellow Boring Sponge
The Yellow Boring Sponge is in the family demosponge. The sponge creates holes in stone, shells of molluscs, and oysters. The sponges habitats vary from Southern England to the Bahamas and the Atlantic Ocean. Like other sponges it takes water in through pores and filters it for food. It has the same organization as other porifera, meaning that it is a large amount of loosely connected cells. Each cell does its own individual job because the sponge has no special tissue. The sponge also does not have a nervous system since it is comprised of many loose cells.
